Alaja Gough Upper School Student

Alaja G. ’26, can often be found in the arts wing of the Scott Center for Arts & Sciences (SCAS). Painter, muralist, an editor of “PLUM” student magazine.

Next Friday, June 5, Alaja will become one of the first Saints to earn an Arts Pathway distinction on her diploma. Then it’s off to WashU on a full ride QuestBridge scholarship, where Alaja will be the first member of her family to attend a four-year college.

“I had a lot of support around me,” she told Cville Right Now in a recent interview, “and a lot of encouraging teachers and peers along the process, and my family.”

Holden Roberts Upper School Student

Holden R. ’26. Holden has shown strong leadership, school spirit, and a friendly presence throughout this year as one of our two student body presidents.

His advice to younger students is to “Be confident, stay involved, and lead by example.” He will be attending the University of Vermont, studying biology on a pre-med track, and playing on their men’s lacrosse team.

“I’ll miss the tight-knit community the most. Everyone here genuinely wants to help each other succeed, whether it’s teachers, coaches, or other students. It creates a really supportive environment that’s hard to find elsewhere.”

Amalie Hendricks Upper School Student

Amalie H. ‘26 has been a consistent source of positivity and leadership throughout her time here at St. Anne’s.

Through her extensive involvement in extracurricular activities since her freshman year, Amalie has made a meaningful impact on the St. Anne’s-Belfield community.

Amalie will be attending the Pennsylvania State University next year, studying musical theater.

“I want people to remember the way I connected with them. Just because we don’t run in the same social circle, or don’t do the same sport, or we aren’t in the musical or choir together, that’s never mattered to me. If I like you, I’m going to be friends with you. I want to get to know everyone.”

Quinn Eliason Upper School Student

Quinn E. ’26, First Team All-Conference and two-time state champion in Track & Field.

My favorite part about St. Anne’s is definitely the community aspect. There’s not many kids, so you really get to know everybody. And there’s so many talented people here — not just athletes, but bright academically and in the arts. There are people from so many different backgrounds. I’ve met more international students than I ever thought I was going to meet before college. Quinn will be studying at UVA next year and running on the Cross Country team.

“A common factor is that everybody’s here to do the right thing, get better, and find success. Especially the faculty. Teachers really care about your success. And that goes for helping you get into college, helping you study and prepare for an exam, and producing well-rounded people.”
